Project Engineer

General Job Description
A Project Engineer is responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of their assigned projects. They plan, schedule, predict, and manage all the technical tasks of their assigned project to assure accuracy, proper resources, and quality from start to finish. They are informed of and apply professional standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for their work.
Project Engineer responsibilities include:
Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the assigned projects.
Thoroughly understand the technical and operational requirements of the project.
Understand the needs and desires of the client and interact with them frequently throughout the project to assure their satisfaction with the project.
Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
Performing overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
Reviewing engineering deliverables and initiating appropriate corrective actions.
Developing and designing tools, machinery, and processes as required to meet the project and client’s needs.
Developing and producing budgets, progress reports, presentations, and other information to convey project status and address issues when they arise.
Developing skills and knowledge through mentoring, associational memberships, professional develop courses and other.
Professionally representing the firm and client in all activities.
Requirements and skills
Proven working experience as a Project Engineer.
Processing experience in grain or manufacturing is a plus.
Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD.
Advanced MS Office skills
Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
Project management and supervision skills
Decision making ability and leadership skills.
Time management and organization skills
BS degree in Engineering or relevant field
