Summary/Objective:

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's environmental, health, and safety programs including but not limited to: DOT, Sustainability, Environmental, and Industrial Hygiene. The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, while cultivating a proactive safety culture and environmental responsibility within the organization. 
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive EH&S programs, policies, and procedures aligned with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish EH&S performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EH&S outcomes to align with corporate EH&S objectives.
  • Lead and develop the EH&S team, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
  • Design and deliver EH&S training programs to educate team members on relevant EH&S topics, including hazard recognition, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure training records are maintained and documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and internal EH&S regulations and policies.
  • Manage regulatory inspections, audits, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain necessary permits and ensure timely renewals.
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analyses to identify corrective actions and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Track and trend incident data to identify areas for improvement and prioritize EH&S initiatives.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and corrective actions to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliances.
  • Facilitate and participate in EH&S related activities to ensure compliance- including emergency response, safety committees, and first responder training.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily working indoors, office environment within a manufacturing environment.
  • Walking around the plant floor
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in environmental, health, and safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field or equivalent mix of experience of education and professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment
Essential Functions:
  • Foster a positive safety culture and promote employee engagement in EH&S initiatives.
  • Communicate EH&S performance, initiatives, and regulatory updates to team members and leadership.
  • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for the company's EH&S programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on EH&S matters to senior leadership team, members, and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and EH&S professionals to stay informed of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainable business practices and enhance the company's environmental reputation.

Skills:
  • CSP certification or willing to obtain
