Director of Lean Manufacturing - Marine Industry

Position Overview:
 
The Director of Lean Manufacturing is responsible for identifying and improving the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction throughout multiple facilities. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Lean Manufacturing
 
Duties:
 
· Responsible for leading the implementation of Lean Manufacturing.
· Cultivate an action-biased culture of continuous improvement to improve KPl’s, in all areas and measure key metrics to drive results.
· Implement Lean Manufacturing principles as appropriate to develop the culture into one focused on continuous improvement.
· Improve the lean principle knowledge and problem-solving capabilities within the facility to increase autonomy and the pace of change.
· Work closely with our plant leadership to identify ways to accelerate the culture change necessary to support dramatic improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale.
· Identify and facilitate process improvement projects, trainings, and workshops to drive cultural change
· Conduct root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/ business and assembly issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, facility design and create process documentation
· Leads Kaizen events and develops future leaders of Kaizen events in each plant.
· Conduct continuous improvement and problem-solving training to develop a Continuous Improvement Program that drives business excellence.
· Drive value stream mapping to define "As-ls Analysis" and the transition to Future State
· Responsible for managing the manufacturing engineering group.
 
Qualifications:
 
· Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience with at least ten years of deep experience in Lean Manufacturing improvement utilizing Kaizen methodologies.
· Minimum BS/BA Degree, preferably in engineering; MBA/MA preferred
· Formal continuous improvement training and demonstrated successful application in large complex projects.
· Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, problem solving and analytical skills
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership at all levels of the organization
· Training in Lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitation
· Ability to learn and apply new concepts and overcome obstacles with change
· Ability to work with and influence others in a fast-paced environment
· Exceptional presentation skills and ability to communicate across all organizational levels.


MUST HAVE: Marine component manufacturing experience!
