Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Grand Island, NE
Responsibilities:
  • Reading and understanding Technical Drawings.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and modifying mechanical equipment and components.
  • Installing components including but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components on new and existing machines and equipment.
  • Ability to run fabrication/CNC equipment. (ie. Mills, Lathes, Grinders, etc.)
  • Ability to weld/braze various metals.
  • Ability to train operators and maintenance staff on proper operation of equipment.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and to incorporate ideas for making processes more efficient.

Requirements:
  • Maintaining a Safe and Clean working environment.
  • Following Verbal instructions and performing tasks assigned by the Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Build parts, assemble equipment, and perform repairs by reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Daily use of hand tools, Mills, Lathes, Saws, Wire Welders, etc.
  • Flexible work schedule.  (May be required to occasionally work a 10-12 hour shift to complete a project on time, may also be required to temporarily work during 2nd and/or 3rd shift or over a weekend.)
  • Practice safe working habits and follow safety policy, procedures, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Ability to work continuous improvement of product quality and ISO-9001:2008.


Qualifications:
  • Relevant work experience repairing and/or building manufacturing equipment - An associate degree in engineering, drafting technology, Industrial technology, or Mechatronics would be beneficial.
  • Self-starter – able to plan and follow through independently on assignments.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an understanding that excellent internal and external customer service is the main goal.
