Operation Manager

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager oversees assembly, purchasing, manufacturing, and warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, cost control, and high-quality production in a Tier 1 automotive supply environment. This role is responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, and process optimization to meet production demands while ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in automotive manufacturing, supply chain management, and lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Assembly & Manufacturing Operations:

  • Oversee assembly line operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and efficiency goals are met.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Monitor equipment performance, coordinate maintenance schedules, and oversee process improvements.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality teams to address product defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive automation and technology adoption to improve production efficiency.

Purchasing & Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee purchasing operations, ensuring raw materials and components are procured cost-effectively and meet quality standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to ensure reliable sourcing.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to optimize costs and delivery schedules.
  • Implement inventory management strategies to reduce excess stock and prevent shortages.

Warehouse & Logistics:

  • Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring proper inventory control, storage, and material handling procedures.
  • Implement and monitor warehouse safety protocols to ensure compliance with OSHA and industry regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment to meet customer deadlines.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and logistics processes to enhance efficiency and space utilization.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Manage and develop teams across assembly, purchasing, manufacturing, and warehouse operations.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance management to enhance workforce productivity.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels, recruitment, and succession planning for key roles.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Lead safety initiatives, audits, and training programs to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Develop and implement process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of operations management experience in automotive manufacturing (Tier 1 preferred).
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of assembly operations, supply chain management, lean manufacturing, and logistics.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and decision-making skills to resolve operational challenges.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
