A leading manufacturer and distributor of a patented tension-only bracing system is seeking a National Sales Engineer to expand market presence in the commercial and industrial steel construction sector. This product offers unmatched strength-to-weight performance and is used extensively in modern structural design.
The ideal candidate will build relationships with general contractors, erector-installers, developers, architects, and engineers across the U.S. to drive sales and grow market share.
Manage a national sales territory through in-person meetings, virtual calls, training sessions, site visits, and technical support.
Achieve annual KPIs related to sales volume, account acquisition, and market share growth.
Conduct customer presentations, jobsite surveys, lunch-and-learns, trade shows, and training events.
Develop in-depth knowledge of customer needs and market trends to support pricing and volume strategy.
Maintain accurate CRM records and project documentation.
Collaborate with internal teams on customer service, collections, and project coordination.
Participate in product quality improvement efforts and follow standardized processes (ISO 9000 preferred).
Support lead generation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; OR at least 5 years of experience in the steel construction industry, ideally with a manufacturer or technical sales organization.
Willingness to travel at least 50% across the U.S.
Strong understanding of steel construction techniques and applications.
Demonstrated success in growing sales and managing client accounts.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRM systems, and ideally familiar with MBS software.
Experience using lead generation tools such as ZoomInfo is a plus.
Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
