National Sales Engineer

Grand Island, Nebraska

A leading manufacturer and distributor of a patented tension-only bracing system is seeking a National Sales Engineer to expand market presence in the commercial and industrial steel construction sector. This product offers unmatched strength-to-weight performance and is used extensively in modern structural design.

The ideal candidate will build relationships with general contractors, erector-installers, developers, architects, and engineers across the U.S. to drive sales and grow market share.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a national sales territory through in-person meetings, virtual calls, training sessions, site visits, and technical support.

  • Achieve annual KPIs related to sales volume, account acquisition, and market share growth.

  • Conduct customer presentations, jobsite surveys, lunch-and-learns, trade shows, and training events.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of customer needs and market trends to support pricing and volume strategy.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and project documentation.

  • Collaborate with internal teams on customer service, collections, and project coordination.

  • Participate in product quality improvement efforts and follow standardized processes (ISO 9000 preferred).

  • Support lead generation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; OR at least 5 years of experience in the steel construction industry, ideally with a manufacturer or technical sales organization.

  • Willingness to travel at least 50% across the U.S.

  • Strong understanding of steel construction techniques and applications.

  • Demonstrated success in growing sales and managing client accounts.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRM systems, and ideally familiar with MBS software.

  • Experience using lead generation tools such as ZoomInfo is a plus.

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to develop and execute business plans.

  • Commitment to safe work practices and a collaborative team environment.
