Quality Assurance Engineer

Quality Engineer
We’re looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer who’s ready to take ownership of product quality and continuous improvement. In this role, you’ll help keep production running smoothly and make sure everything we ship meets high standards for reliability and performance. You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to solve problems, improve processes, and keep customers happy.
What You’ll Do
  • Support company-wide quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Use data and statistical tools (SPC) to track performance and identify trends.
  • Manage the corrective/preventive action process and follow through on open issues.
  • Work with leadership to roll out quality-related projects and improvements.
  • Set and maintain quality goals with production to boost reliability and cut waste.
  • Run or support training sessions on quality practices and reliability standards.
  • Investigate customer quality concerns and help implement corrective actions.
  • Partner daily with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to keep projects on track.
  • Support and monitor quality processes for metal stamping, welding, plating, and other fabrication operations to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve process capability, surface finish, and weld integrity.
  • Travel up to 25% to visit other sites or customers when needed.
  • Monitor and manage product risk to meet both internal and customer expectations.
  • Act as the go-to person for internal and external quality escalations.
  • Help write and update department procedures to keep them practical and compliant.
  • Take part in internal audits and help prepare reports.
  • Support new product launches through documentation and validation work (APQP, PSW, etc.).
  • Stay current on quality standards and testing updates that affect the business.
  • Jump in on other projects or duties as needed.
Experience/ background preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP, and 8D problem solving.
  • Familiarity with metal forming, stamping, welding, and plating processes.
  • Experience with control plans, FMEAs, DOE, and root cause analysis.
  • Six Sigma or ISO 9001 background preferred; Lead Auditor training is a plus.
Experience
  • At least 5 years in quality or manufacturing roles with increasing responsibility.
  • Previous experience working with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 systems.
  • Exposure to fabrication or assembly environments involving stamping, welding, or plating is strongly preferred.
Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Solid communication skills — comfortable working with everyone from operators to leadership.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and hit deadlines.
  • Team player who can collaborate across departments.
  • Able to read and understand technical documents and safety guidelines.
  • Experience with testing, validation, and feasibility work is a bonus.
