We’re partnering with an industry leader in high-performance, build-to-order manufacturing—known for innovation, craftsmanship, and premium-quality engineering—as they enter their next growth phase, strengthening structure, process discipline, and data-driven production management.

 

They’re seeking a Director / General Manager of Operations to be the central operational leader, taking day-to-day oversight from the founders and building scalable systems while preserving a strong craftsmanship culture.

 

What You’ll Lead

Day-to-day production, purchasing, and facility operations for standard products and full custom builds
Production review cadence and KPI dashboards; develop simple, actionable reporting for teams and managers
Labor planning and productivity to hit throughput and on-time delivery targets
ERP-driven workflows across production, purchasing, inventory, and accounting
Accurate work order creation, closure, and invoicing in sync with accounting and month-end close
Process documentation – turning tribal knowledge into structured, repeatable processes
Continuous improvement to increase throughput, reduce delays, and boost efficiency
Purchasing & inventory strategy to ensure availability while minimizing excess stock
Cross-functional communication between sales, production, purchasing, and accounting
Facility maintenance, safety, and infrastructure improvements

What We’re Looking For:

7+ years operations or general management in manufacturing or build-to-order environments
Proven leadership of production teams and purchasing operations
Strong ERP experience (work orders, purchasing, inventory, accounting integration)
Background in process improvement, scaling operations, and structured production management
Experience building KPI reporting and performance management systems
Financial / month-end close coordination experience preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Thrives in a fast-growth, hands-on manufacturing environment
